Dongyi Zhu is a lecturer at Shaanxi Normal University. She receives her Ph.D. in Foreign Languages and Literatures from Tsinghua University, Beijing. Her doctoral dissertation deals with topics of Chinese conversational narrative markers, semantic default in reference and semantic-pragmatic interface of discourse markers. Dongyi has taught foreign linguistics and modern English Lexicology at undergraduate levels for English majors at Shaanxi Normal University. Her principal research interests center on conversational narratives and discourse analysis. Her current project includes an interfacial semantic-pragmatic-cognitive study of conversational narrative markers, from both English and Chinese corpus.
